摘要
This essay analyzes the novel The Passion According to G. H. (1964), by Clarice Lispector, observing the narrative emphasis that deconstructs the category of space experienced by the protagonist. Through the overlapping of different physical realities, such as a desert landscape over a maid's room, a strong spatial identification between language and existence can be seen in the book. Seeking to verify the unfolding of the recognized crisis that configures the Claricean text, the hypothesis arises that it is not only in the famous clash between the woman and the cockroach that the metaphysical tone of this fiction is processed, but of the first reactions that put in dialogue, the character and space. For reflection, some theories that reflect the literary space are revisited (BACHELARD, 1989; BLANCHOT, 1987), other more specific considerations about the desert landscape (AMARAL, 2009; BLANCHOT, 2005; PONDe, 2009), in addition to readings already done about Clarice's work. From the relation between literature and the desert, the implications that affect a certain degree of aridity to the verb of human expression are probed.
