Model for charge exchanges in N2+ on N2 and O2+ on O2 collisions

摘要
The charge exchanges in N-2(+) - N-2 and O-2(+) - O-2 Collisions were studied using the Monte Carlo simulation technique. The collision cross sections for charge exchange were derived by comparing the calculated drift velocities and longitudinal diffusion coefficients of N-2(+) and O-2(+) ions in N-2, and O-2 gases, respectively, with the measured data in a wide range of reduced electric field E/N of similar to 5 - 1000 Td (1 Td = 10(-21) Vm(2)). The present model is applicable to the particle modeling of N-2 and O-2 discharges. (c) 2007 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
