摘要
This paper presents the results of the comparison between experimental and numerical simulation of (air-oil) stream patterns in the vertical pipe. The superficial velocities of the air range from (0.1-6 m/s) and (0.1-0.3 m/s) for oil. These experimental flow patterns results would affirm by the digital camera and simulation result with ANSYS 16.1 FLUENT CFD. Concluded that the transition between patterns is depending on the increase of air superficial velocity and length of the pipe. The higher air velocity the greater area of air-filled along the pipe and the more aliasing (waves) appeared in the oil. Note that there is a convergence between the flow patterns obtained from experimental and numerical results.
