In the article understand basic myths associated with the name of Alexander Nevsky. Author argues that, contrary to common hypotheses in the national historiography, Mstislav the Bold could be the grandfather of Alexander Yaroslavich; Birger Jarl was not wounded in the Battle of the Neva; Teutonic Order did not participate in the Battle on the Ice; The Life of Alexander Nevsky is written after the discovery of the relics of the prince and the decision on his canonization not before 1380, and not in the XIII century; relics of Alexander Nevsky were not preserved because were killed in a fire in Vladimir XV and
