摘要
Pre-regulator Power-Factor-Correction is one of the most widely used power converter nowadays. There are many reasons for that. The input current waveform is sinusoidal and hence, the injection of current harmonics to the line is very low. Thus, compliance with international regulation like IEC 61000-3-2 and IEEE 519 is almost sure for the whole range of power levels even if those regulations change in the future. Linear analysis is used in PFC converter design based on choosing a high value of the output capacitor. On the other hand, recently, the authors have detected a low-frequency instability in pre-regulator PFC converter at medium output capacitor values that established a new dynamic regions. In this issue,, a review of the whole operating condition of the PFC converter is discussed. Three stable regions are highlighted as a different option of dynamic operating and an accurate compassion is introduced. Also, instability and high distorted regions are made clear. A prototype model is examined experimentally to assure this study and reflect a good agreement between them.
