Current-induced vortex motion and the vortex-glass transition in YBa2Cu3Oy films

Measurements of current-voltage characteristics have been performed on YBa2Cu3Oy films for two components of electric fields in the ab plane, E-x and E-y, in magnetic fields of the form (H-0, H-0, delta H-0), where x\\ the current density J, z\\ the c axis, and delta much less than 1. The simultaneous measurements of E-x and E-y under these conditions make it possible to analyze the situation of the vortex motion due to the Lorentz force. Our results indicate that vortices move as long-range correlated lines only below the glass transition temperature in a low-current limit. We also show that applying high-current density destroys line motion and induces a structural change of vortex lines in the glass state.
