Controllable self-frequency shift of subpicosecond soliton light pulses in a nonlinear optical fiber

We experimentally demonstrated continuous tuning of the wavelength of pulses of a subpicosecond soliton laser working in the 1.55 mu m spectral range during propagation in a nonlinear optical fiber. The width of the tuning band reached 250-300 nm, and the maximum wavelength of solitons at the fiber exit exceeded 1.8 mu m at an average optical power of input radiation of similar to 2.7 mW.
