Physical-mechanical properties of nanostructured titanium nitride

摘要
High-melting compounds have many promised properties in conventional polycrystalline state but their behaviour in nanocrystalline one is almost unknown. TiN ultra-fine powder with different initial particle size (16-80 nm) has been used for the specimens preparation by high pressure sintering (T=900 degrees - 1300 degrees C, P=4-7.7 GPa). Hardness and elastic properties in connection with nanocrystalline structure and porosity are reported and discussed in detail. (C) 1997 Acta Metallurgica Inc.
