摘要
Sports facilities have a special socio-cultural significance as well as an important role with regard to environmental and climate protection in the building sector. The largest share of German sports facilities are sports halls, which are mainly operated by the municipalities and were mostly built during the so-called Golden Plan (1960/70s). In order to take advantage of the positive effects of sports on the quality of life and to activate the CO2 reduction potential of sports facilities, a certain quantity and quality of these buildings is required. The following article discusses the extent to which sports facilities - especially municipal sports halls - can meet the quantitative and qualitative requirements and which perspectives for existing sports halls result from a sustainability perspective.
