摘要
ZnS quantum dots were synthesized using sulfur source of sodium sulphide and mercaptoethanol via chemical bath deposition technique. The synthesized ZnS QDs were analyzed and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and UV-visible (UV-vis) spectrophotometry. The average particle size goes down to 1.9 nm as capping agent concentration increases and corresponding absorption coefficient peak goes down to 265 nm. The blue shift within absorption-wavelength was elaborated. The refractive index and optical dielectric constant are calculated. A correlation between energy gap and absorption coefficient aside and particle size another side is discussed. (C) 2015 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
