3D equilibrium shapes of misfitting precipitates in anisotropic materials

摘要
In high temperature application materials, such as Ni-base alloys, the microstructure is very important for the overall behaviour. A model for predicting the equilibrium microstructure is presented. The model takes interfacial and elastic energy into account. Together with a Boundary Element Method a numerical procedure is presented allowing a realistic simulation in 3D. The simulation displays relevant factors for certain microstructures. For example the influence of particle size and the ratio of the elastic properties of the precipitate and the matrix is discussed.
