摘要
An aperiodic substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) wide-angle scanning phased array with low side-lobe levels (SLLs) is presented. The proposed C-band array has 16 SIW-slot elements with aperiodic distribution. The TE10 mode of each element is excited to obtain a wide beamwidth for wide-angle scanning potential. In addition, a genetic algorithm is used to optimize the placement of the elements to reduce the scanning SLLs of the phased array, especially in wide-angle scanning areas. The proposed approach provides superior performance of SLLs < -11.5 dB, particularly small gain fluctuation (+/- 1.5 dB) when scanning form -68 degrees to +68 degrees. Compared with the same aperture uniform array, the scanning angle and the SLLs of the proposed array have been significantly improved.
