In this paper, a novel low-voltage ride-through (LVRT) control scheme for the squirrel-cage induction generator (SCIG) wind turbine systems is proposed, based on the feedback linearization. At first, the nonlinear relationship between the DC-link voltage V-dc and the q-axis stator voltage of SCIG is derived. Through the application of the feedback linearization theory, a DC-link voltage controller with the output of q-axis stator voltage of SCIG is designed. Consequently, V-dc can be controlled by the generator-side converter instead of the line-side converter. The effectiveness of the proposed method has been verified by the simulation and experimental results under various grid conditions.
