Simulating unsaturated flow using the multi-continuum approach

摘要
The objective of the proposed paper is to present a multi-continuum model using TOUGH2 to evaluate unsaturated flow in fractured permeable formations. Based on a discrete reference simulation concerning a regularly fractured formation the significant flow parameters are identified. Following this study a multi-continuum approach for two coupled continua (fracture / matrix system) is examined to approximate the unsaturated flow processes in comparison to the discrete solution.
