摘要：

A new species of the genus Carica, found in forests in southeast Ecuador, is described. Carica palandensis Badillo, Van den Eynden & Van Damme is clearly distinguished from all other Carica species by its always compound leaves with 5- to 9-petiolulate leaflets.
