摘要
This paper introduces the mathematical concept of 'group' into fabric weave and presents a new fabric weave design method by algebraic operation principle. Firstly, on the basis of set theory and mapping relationship between the set of weft float serial numbers and the set of warp float serial numbers, it utilizes 'permutation' method to define fabric weave, and builds its mathematical model by group theory. Then, it defines multiplication operation and superposition operation between weaves, and investigates a method for design new weaves by these two algebraic operators. Finally, it discusses the method with some examples of application. The method explores a new digital way to represent and design fabric weave.
