摘要
The linguistic landscape, which is one of the sub-research fields of sociolinguistics, examines how the languages surrounding the public sphere display in terms of quantity and quality. In the initial studies of the literature, the data obtained were investigating the reflection of the native languages of the nations living in the society, that is, linguistic vitality. However, at this point, it has been understood that the results obtained from the outputs respond to variables that are different from each other, such as migration, policy, commerce but that affect each other with the domino effect. This article will introduce the work of the linguistic landscape with selected examples from Turkey and it aims to present a general view of the linguistic view of Ankara in the sample of Altindag, cankaya and Mamak districts. However, due to the limitations of the study, the language of official institutions and organizations was excluded from the research. One of our goals in this limitation is to question how and under what conditions the society shapes commercial signs, regardless of state policies.
