摘要
In this paper the applicability of a high-impedance fault (HIF) detection and location method based on the injection of high-frequency signals to overhead transmission lines (TLs) is examined. The high-frequency signals are transmitted and received using Power Line Communication (PLC) infrastructure. The simulation models are implemented in ATPDraw and several simulation scenarios are conducted in order to assess the performance of the adopted HIF method under different conditions. Results show that the HIF scheme performs very accurately in all examined cases, thus can be used for the detection and location of HIF in overhead TLs.
