A conceptual framework for managing clinical processes

Reengineering of the health care delivery system is underway, as is the transformation of the processes and methods used for recording information describing patient care (ie, the development of a computer-based record). This report describes the use of object-oriented analysis and design to develop and implement clinical process reengineering as well as the organization of clinical data. In addition, the facility of the proposed framework for implementing workflow computing is discussed.
