摘要
This paper proposes an optimal control strategy for home energy management system equipped with rooftop solar photovoltaic panels working in conjunction with lithium-ion (Li-ion) based battery energy storage to achieve dispatchable generation/load under future dynamic distribution energy market environment. The control purpose is to reduce the overall operating costs with the consideration of battery degradation. A nonlinear model predictive control scheme is designed to determine the optimal dispatch power flow to the grid. A physics based equivalent circuit model of Li-ion battery derived from electrochemical principles is used in the prediction model, due to its capability of predicting battery's degradation behavior under arbitrary terminal power flow. The optimization problem is then formulated and dealt with deterministic dynamic programing, as the Li-ion battery is represented by highly nonlinear electrochemical model.
