摘要
Fe doped TiO2 were synthesized batch wise using sol-gel method. This method is popular because it is easy, low price, and the purity of oxides obtained. Different molar concentration of iron (III) chloride solution (0.1%, 0.3%, 0.5%, 1%) were added to constant amount of Tetraisopropyl Orthotitanate (TTIP) solution. Gradually change in colour of Fe doped TiO2 composites from white to reddish yellow was clearly observed after increasing in concentration of iron doping. All the samples was calcinated at 400 degrees C in muffle furnace for good morphology of particles. After successful synthesis of Fe doped TiO2 nanoparticles, characterization of samples was done by using UV-Vis Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy (DRS), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR), X-Ray diffraction technique (XRD) and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM). The aim of this study was to explain the importance of Fe doping and dopant distribution on electronic band structure of TiO2 nanoparticles. Red shift of absorption edge was observed in the UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy analysis. Fe ions might easily be incorporated with the crystal lattice of TiO2 due to almost same ionic radius. Fe doped TiO2 can be used in the field of photo catalysis techniques and magneto-optic device.
