Neutral-ionic transition in TTF(2)IA at high pressure

摘要
Pressure dependence of the absorbance and electrical conductivity of bis-tetrathiafulvalene-iodanil (TTF(2)IA) is reported. Manifestations of the neutral-ionic transition at 3.1 GPa are obtained in the d.c. conductivity, electronic excitation spectrum, charge-transfer and vibrational bands supporting the idea of an asymmetric charge distribution between the TTF moieties in the TTF-IA-TTF trimer units in the quasi-ionic state. The way of evaluating the ionicity of TTF molecules above the transition pressure is proposed. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
