Effect of ethanol on antioxidative enzymes and lipid peroxidation activity in erythrocytes

摘要：
Investigations aimed at demonstrating changes in the activity of enzymes forming antioxidative barrier and oxidative stress parameters in erythrocytes of rats which were administered ethyl alcohol. In the 4(th) week of the experiment, increase of catalase activity in relation to the control group (9.1 U/gHb to 11.4 U/gHb) was observed; after 8(th) weeks in decreased to 4 U/gHb and in the 12(th) week increased to 7.4 U/gHb. Superoxide dismutase activity was different, it decreased from 2212 U/gHb to 1676 U/gHb throughout the duration of the experiment Malonyl. dialdehyde concentration increased from the initial 0.14 umol/gHb to 0.24 umol/gHb in the 8(th) week. Stabilisation was observed in 12(th) week at the level of 0.24 umol/ gHb.
