Helen Quinn, a theoretical particle physicist with interest in public understanding of science describes the broader meaning of few words in elementary physics such as force, work, momentum, energy, and coincidence that cause problems for the students in learning the precise physics concepts. The belief, hypothesis, theory, and knowledge of some of the words that are considered to be the main cause of public miss understanding of science is also discussed. It is required to be much more careful about the procedure and timings in using the words in talking to the public. The authority or the uncertainty of or knowledge is required to be expressed precisely. The conscious continuum of knowledge certainty is inadequately understood by most of the listeners, where as they seems to be taken for granted during any conversation. It is required to revise our theoretical frameworks by building models and hypothesis that incorporate all the well established elements of prior theories.
