Uniaxial pressure dependence of the Neel temperature in CeCu5.8Au0.2

摘要
The Neel temperature T-N of CeCu5.8Au0.2 which is an incommensurate antiferromagnet below similar to 0.25 K decreases under hydrostatic pressure as found previously for other alloys of this system. Measurements of the specific heat C show that uniaxial pressure parallel to the b and c axes of the orthorhombic crystal suppresses T-N but pressure parallel to the a direction leads to an increase of T-N. Apparently, the antiferromagnetic component of the RKKY interaction leading to the incommensurate order is stabilized by a reduction of a. Non-Fermi-liquid behavior in C(T) is observed at pressure for which T-N --> 0.
