Effect of Crystallization Temperature on Properties of Slag Glass Ceramics

摘要
Glass-ceramics were prepared using waste slag as the main staring materials via a simple sintering process. The amount of the slag used was 95wt% and the amount of potash feldspar was 5wt%. The powders and the glass-ceramics obtained were examined by X-ray fluorescence, DSC, SEM and XRD. The results indicated that the properties of the glass-ceramics obtained at various crystallization temperatures were different very much. The glass-ceramics with best properties and with the gehlenite as main crystals were obtained by crystallizing at 830 degrees C and sintering at 1200 degrees C. The glass-ceramics consisting of small crystals had a high bending strength of 88 MPa.
