摘要
Zora Neal Hurston was a famous American anthropologist and author during the time of the Harlem Renaissance, she spent her entire career to spread African-American culture and spoke out women's mind from word. Hurston is best known for her novel Their Eyes Were Watching God, which was regarded as one of the best works of that age and is still deeply loved by readers and scholars. Though many researches have been conducted on this, none of them is from the perspective of Babylonian myth archetype. This paper analyses how the author use the Babylonian myth archetype, redemptive violence, in this novel, and tries to provide a new angle for the reader to understand this novel.
