Investigation of parameters affecting interface strength in Al/Cu clad bimetal rod extrusion process

摘要
In the present research, extrusion of Al/Cu clad bimetal rod is analyzed by FEM using ANSYS LS-DYNA. Effect of extrusion parameters on flow velocity of the two metals in the vicinity of the interface being the dominant factor in creation of interfacial bonds is studied. The validity of FEM analyses is confirmed by experiments in terms of the deformed shape, radial strain, extrusion force, and interface strength. (C) 2009 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
