Gauge-invariant massive vector fields

We propose a Lagrangian for a massive vector field that is both covariant and gauge invariant. As a necessary ingredient, we introduce two new components in the strength field-strength tensor. Furthermore, the quantum field theory treatment should consider the new field as a generalization of the Proca field-strength tensor as the basic field of the theory. As an example, we find the solutions to the homogeneous set of equations of motion.
