Film condensation between two vertical flat plates - Comparison of the thermal performance of R134a and R12

摘要
This paper presents the results of a numerical study of the forced convection condensation of R134a between two vertical plates. The boundary layer equations for two phase flow are solved and take into account the parameters generally neglected in theoretical studies of condensation, namely: The pressure loss, the inertia, the enthalpy convection, the variation of thermophysical properties and the liquid and vapour turbulent viscosities and conductivities, The thermal performances of refrigerants R-134a and R-12 are compared. The results of the present analysis are compared with the experimental values of Shao and Granryd (1995). The influence of turbulence, gravity, vapour velocity, Jakob number, pressure force and shear stress is studied.
