摘要
Pregabalin (PGB) is a new antiepileptic drug that is not metabolized by the liver. Treatment with PGB is authorized for patients with intractable epilepsy with focal and/or secondarily generalized seizures. We have evaluated the course of an add-on treatment with PGB in 103 patients (mean age: 37.7 years). 35 patients discontinued the drug within the first 4 months of therapy. After 12 months 33 patients still remained on PGB (another 4 were lost during follow-up). 10 of these patients had a therapeutic benefit with a decrease of seizure frequency (8) or complete seizure control (2).
