摘要
This paper reports the crystallization process of Zr60Ni25Al15 amorphous alloy studied by using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), analytical transmission electron microscopy (ATEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The crystallization of Zr60Ni25Al15 amorphous alloy proceeds through an eutectic reaction, corresponding to the precipitation of Zr6NiAl2 and Zr5Ni4Al phases. The following reasons are addressed to the large glass-forming ability (GFA) of Zr60Ni25Al15: (a) the significant atomic redistribution of Al and Ni in the dense random packed atomic configuration and (b) the strict elemental limitation for a determined crystal site in the precipitation of Zr6NiAl2 and Zr5Ni4Al.
