Nuclear structure effects in the proton decay of odd-odd nuclides

The systematic study of proton decay has provided considerable insight into the properties of nuclides beyond the proton drip line. In particular, the results have provided masses for odd-Z nuclides and spectroscopic factors that have been useful in charting the shifts of nuclear single-particle orbitals along the proton drip line. Most of the invesigations have, however, been focused on properties of odd-Z proton emitters whose daughter nuclides are even-even nuclides. In this paper, the relationship between the structure of odd-odd nuclides and their odd-neutron daughters will be discussed. These effects will be illustrated by specific examples for structure and decay of odd-odd Sb nuclides.
