Internet web-based solution for control system maintenance

With the great development of the Internet and web technologies in the past few years, many approaches have been proposed to facilitate the remote maintenance action via the Internet. However, most of works are focused on the instrument maintenance. In this paper, a novel system architecture to facilitate the controller software maintenance has been presented. Several implementation issues of the system, including remote upgrading controller, collaboration among the partners, and controller on-site implementation, have also been discussed. A water tank system has been used as a case study to illustrate the solution for the control software maintenance.
