摘要
Incontinence in non-neurogenic male patients is not largely reported in the literature, however the frequency is increasing with prostatic treatments and male incontinence remains a problem. A literature revue is reported concerning male incontinence, clinical evaluation then treatment with artificial sphincter, urethral male sling and balloon. Initial assessment is required from clinical and complementary evaluation, i.e. diary, PAD-test, questionnaires and urodynamics. The artificial sphincter remains the gold standard in major incontinence. Continence rate is over 80%, however some patients are reluctant to manipulate a device, and the high cost and complications limit the use. The miniinvasive techniques, male sling and balloon, have a compressive action on urethra and continence rate is obtained in half of the patients. Male urinary incontinence can be treated and treatment decision is depending of the mechanism and degree of incontinence. Different therapies are proposed, but now most of the patients may be continent.
