摘要
This paper reports isolation of white blood cells in a given blood sample using silicon-based microfilter. The types of silicon-based microfilters are weir, pillar, crossflow, and membrane. The membrane microfilter has been explored for the ability of grasping human blood and effectiveness in separating RBCs and WBCs. The membrane filter is embedded with crossflow microfilter design for the purpose of separating the WBCs using COMSOL software. Because the crossflow filter is superior, it can be consolidated alongside downstream constituents for on-chip genomic analysis.
