摘要
Raman measurements in a Pr2CuO4 single crystal show structures related to nine crystal-field (CF) excitations. They correspond to transitions within the H-3(4), H-3(5), and H-3(6) multiplets of Pr3+ ions in C-4 upsilon site symmetry. Satellites to these CF excitations are also observed and associated with the presence of an inequivalent Pr3+ site of lower symmetry. A set of CF parameters which describes the observed energy spectra is derived and compared to previous calculations.
