摘要
Regional performance, potential of the economy of a region and its competitiveness is influenced by sources of wealth formation, where the quantity much like the quality matters. The amount of capital and labour allocation is not the one and only factor which influences its performance and competitiveness. Industrial structure, esp. the investment part, is regarded as important benchmark of regional economics. Investment belongs to inputs and also is a part of outputs of production process; hence, it systematically influences the production rate and its own accumulation too, and can be used to evaluate regional competitiveness. With regard to industrial wages difference, consumption level and its connections to living standards of citizens, the development of industrial structure within the dynamics meaning of regional industrial investment determines not only regional performance i.e. its share of wealth formation in the GDP form, but employment as well. The aim of this paper is to compare the regional investment differences of Czech, Hungarian and Slovak NUTS II regions in terms of their industrial allocation and verify the hypothesis concerning the determination of industries, its investment development significantly affects regional economic performance. The analysis shows lot of differences within the industrial investment allocation of regions in the structure and the development perspective. We can assume that no general relationships of industrial investment allocation and economic performance within the regions exist, since just a few commonalities have been identified at the national basis only. However, all the conclusions don't exclude existence of other indirect-, derived- or transmitted effects which have been neither included nor evaluated by this study.
