摘要
Introduction: With globalization, organizations face many challenges every day to cope with the fast and competitive world market, betting on innovation or the most disruptive techniques that guarantee the success of their projects. Objectives: Therefore, this research seeks to show the effects of the current industrial revolution or industry 4.0 in traditional project management. Methodology: Understanding that evolutionary periods such as previous industrial revolutions have been drivers of important global changes, among many aspects, the technological advances of industry 4.0 are predominant in project management, the contributions of those who implement these technologies and the experience of project managers through which it is possible to discern the impact of Industry 4.0 on project management, identify future scenarios and establish recommendations. Results: This qualitative research confirms hypotheses that point to changes in project management hand in hand with Artificial Intelligence and other Industry 4.0 technologies capable of reducing delivery times, minimizing risks, and providing its key benefits in terms of flexibility, costs, efficiency, quality, and competitive advantages (Masood and Sonntag, 2020). Conclusions: Through the developed research, a scenario of technological challenges is noticed where the project manager will have to adapt technology and live in a more intelligent digital environment to survive the coming wave of changes.
