High-quantum-efficiency erbium-doped optical fiber and the effective deactivator

摘要
The optical properties of erbium-doped bismuth-based oxide glasses were studied in this letter. By adding a proper amount of hydroxyl group as the deactivator, the excited state absorption and upconversion of erbium were restrained. The mechanism is explained and some amplifiers with good properties are produced. (C) 2004 American Institute of Physics.
