摘要
In this paper, a new braking resistor approach using the Equal Area Criterion (EAC) is presented to improve the transient stability of power systems. A conventional and a fuzzy logic controller have been developed and compared. The proposed approach was tested on a single machine system, and then on the IEEE WSCC multimachine test system. Simulation results indicate that the proposed approach provides a simple and effective method for the transient stability improvement.
