Imaging inside a photonic crystal slab with negative refraction is discussed and analysed. The images inside and outside of the photonic crystal slab are obtained clearly by a numerical simulation technique. The inner and outer images go hand in hand with the distance between the light source and the photonic crystal slab. All the results provide evidence that there is a negative refraction effect in the imaging mechanism of the photonic crystal slab.
