摘要
Fiber-optic sensors provide high data rates and high temperature capability and are passive and immune to electromagnetic radiation. The technology brings new capabilities that allow continuous thermal surveillance of reservoirs. Initially conceived as a steamflood-monitoring tool, this technology has proved capable of monitoring oil and gas producers as well as water injectors. Since DTS data are continuously acquired over the lifetime of the well, they immediately reflect any change in reservoir production. The system is installed with the completion and requires no further intervention.
