摘要
Based on materials of advertising posters and bonus inserts illustrated with ethnographic scenes, the article takes the first steps to a study of works of prints as a specialized instrument for education. Examined in the context of various educational practices of turn of the 20th century, the author focuses on which subjects were depicted as "examples" for prints, who acted as creators and commissioners, and for whom this product was designed. The cases examined in the article show the penetration of elements of "high culture" into the viewer field of the mass viewer.
