摘要
Nanoparticles Fe3O4 modified Chitosan (Fe3O4/CS) were prepared using co-precipitation method by mass ratios of CS and Fe3O4 of 1:4. The characterization of nanoparticles of Fe3O4/CS was analyzed using FT-IR, X-ray diffraction, VSM, and SEM then tested its antibacterial activity by diffusion method against Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella typhi. The results suggested that Fe3O4/CS nanoparticles were successfully modified with the interaction between the oxygen atom of Fe3O4 and hydrogen atom in amino group of CS. The shape of particles is almost spherical and the diameter of material ranged from 2 to 13 nm. The Fe3O4/CS exhibit their antibacterial activities on both Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella typhi bacterial strains. The diameter of the inhibition zone of the Fe3O4/CS nanoparticles toward Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella typhi was 14 and 12 mm, respectively, at the concentration of Fe3O4/CS test of 200 mu g/mL.
