摘要
Oxidation of aromatic amines has been a powerful tool for connecting pi-conjugated molecules. Originating from aniline oxidation, a variety of reactions and strategies for the preparation of nitrogen-containing functional pi-conjugated molecules have been developed. This Minireview highlights recent examples of the research of pi-conjugated molecules synthesized through oxidation of aromatic amines. The formation of intra- or intermolecular C-C, C-N, or N-N bonds produces functional organic dyes. According to recent trends, the protocol has been extended to the constructions of distorted pi-conjugated molecules under mild reaction conditions.
