摘要
The paper integrated the Geographical Information System with Cellular Automata (CA) and made use of VB and ArcGIS as development tools to design and implement the system of forest fire spread in Inner Mongolia Region. It realized the simulation of the 2D forest fire spread based on CA and visualization of the 3D real-time images transmitted from the fire site. In the 2D simulation process, combing the physical model and CA model and considering the factors affecting the forest fire, such as the meteorological, terrain and fuel type in order to more realistically simulate the spread of forest fire. At the same time, finding the short path to the fire site for fighter during the forest fire. By the analysis results, the decision-makers can make the scientific and effective fire extinguishing decisions.
