Fifteen Ommatiine species of robber flies, belonging to five genera (Cophi-nopoda Hull, Emphysomera Schiner, Michotamia Schiner, Ommatius Wiedemann and Pseudomerodontina Joseph & Parui) are reported from Sri Lanka. This includes seven new species (M. nigra, M. deceptus, O. allisoralnus, O. millusculus, O. sparsus, O. speciosus and P. alata), five species previously known from India [E. tectura Scarbrough, M. fuscifemoratus Joseph & Parui, O. jairajpurii Joseph & Parui, O. kempi Joseph & Parui and O. ramakrishnai Joseph & Parui], and new records for three species already known from Sri Lanka [C. chinensis, E. nigra Schiner, and M. aurata (F.)]. The female of O. kempi is discovered and described for the first time. Antenna, right wing, and detailed structures of the terminalia are illustrated. A key to the 15 Ommatiine species is included.
