Production and characterization of reactive hot isostatic pressed Ti48Al and Ti48Al1Ag alloys

摘要
Ti-48(at%)Al and Ti-48(at%)Al-l(at%)Ag PM alloys were produced through Reactive Hot Isostatic Pressing (RHIP). Two Al powder sizes and two RHIP holding times at 1200degreesC/180MPa were used. The produced alloys were given a heat treatment of 2h at 1250degreesC, followed by 10h at 1000degreesC and characterized. The effect of the varied parameters including the 1(at%)Ag addition was found very small, similar microstructures, Young's modulus and ultimate tensile strength having been obtained for all the alloys.
