摘要
This paper considers the need to support spectrum availability estimation with reliable real-time spectrum scans. The discussions are based on a snapshot of television white spaces (TVWS) results captured in Verulam, KwaZulu Natal Province of South Africa and compared against the predicted availability data calculated using a geolocation spectrum database (GLSD). Results indicate possibility of white space prediction accuracy improvements with a real-time monitoring-based feedback and need for careful considerations in setting up the monitoring system.
